PHOTO FLASH: Anika Noni Rose Attends Grace in Winter Silver Ball

Tony Award winner Anika Noni Rose was one of the many attendees at the Grace in Winter Silver Ball, held on Monday, February 8 at the Ballroom at The Plaza Hotel in New York City. The evening was a fundraiser for Evidence, A Dance Company, and honored founder and artistic director Ronald K. Brown and Evidence Chairman, Reginald Van Lee.

The ball featured performances by Tony Award winner Jennifer Holliday and jazz great Peven Everett, with attendees including Alvin Ailey director Judith Jamison, Fela! cast member Saycon Sengbloh, Princess Keisha Omilana and Prince Kunle Omilana of Nigeria, and both current and past members of Evidence Dance Company.

Rose won a Tony Award for her performance in Caroline, or Change and most recently appeared on Broadway as Maggie in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. She played Lorrell Robinson in the movie version of the musical Dreamgirls, and voiced the lead character of Princess Tiana in the Disney animated film, The Princess and the Frog.
