The musical, based on the 1960 Academy Award winning film The Apartment, features a book by Neil Simon and a score from Burt Bacharach and Hal David, which includes such hits as "I'll Never Fall In Love Again," "Promises, Promises," and "Knowing When to Leave." It tells the story of the Consolidated Life Insurance Company and Chuck Baxter (Hayes), one of its charming young employees. In an effort to advance at the company, he lends executives his apartment for their extramarital romantic trysts. But things become slightly complicated when Fran Kubelik (Chenoweth), the object of Chuck's affection, becomes the mistress of one of his executives.
The creative team will include Scott Pask (scenic design), Bruce Pask (costume design), Donald Holder (lighting design), and Brian Ronan (sound design). Orchestrations are by Jonathan Tunick, with music direction by Phil Reno, and dance music arrangements by David Chase.
