Tom Aldredge, Len Cariou, Alexander Hanson, Nathan Lane, and Michele Pawk have joined the line-up for New York City Center‘s celebration of Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Stephen Sondheim on the occasion of his 80th birthday. The gala celebration on April 26 will be directed by John Doyle, with Rob Berman as musical director.

Previously announced performers include Michael Cerveris, Barbara Cook, Claybourne Elder, Raúl Esparza, Sutton Foster, Victor Garber, Alexander Gemignani, Joanna Gleason, Mark Jacoby, Patti LuPone, Debra Monk, Donna Murphy, Bernadette Peters, Jim Walton, B.D. Wong, and Chip Zien. The previously announced Angela Lansbury will no longer be able to perform at the event.

The gala will begin at 6pm with cocktails at City Center, followed by the show at 7pm, highlighted by numbers from shows for which Sondheim has written both music and lyrics. The evening will end with a post-performance dinner at The Plaza Hotel. Proceeds from the benefit will help fund New York City Center’s ongoing activities and also support Young Playwrights Inc.
