Classic Stage Company’s critically acclaimed production of David Ives’ Venus in Fur, has extended by three weeks, and will now close on March 28. Walter Bobbie has directed the production, which, with this extension, has become the longest running show in the theater’s history.

Ives’ play is inspired by the infamous erotic novel of the same name and takes theatergoers behind the scenes of an audition, where a man and a woman blur the lines between fantasy and reality, seduction and power, love and sex. Wes Bentley and Nina Arianda star.

Bentley’s numerous film credits include American Beauty, The Claim, The Four Feathers, and P2. He more recently starred in The Last Word and also the thriller Dolan’s Cadillac, based on the novel by Stephen King. Arianda’s New York credits include Measure for Measure, The Donkey Show, Becoming Natasha, and Still the River Flows.

The creative team includes John Lee Beatty (scenic design), Anita Yavitch (costume design), Peter Kaczorowski (lighting design), and Acme Sound Partners (sound design).
