Adam Rapp’s Ghosts in the Cottonwood to Get NYC Premiere in Amoralists’ 2010 Season

Obie Award winner and Pulitzer Prize finalist Adam Rapp’s first play, Ghosts in the Cottonwoods will receive its New York premiere as part of The Amoralists’ 2010 season. The playwright will direct the production, which will run November 11 – December 6.

The company’s newly announced season also includes two plays by resident playwright Derek Ahonen. Happy in The Poorhouse will run March 11 – April 5, and the writer’s Amerissiah will play June 3-27. All three productions will perform at Theatre 80 St. Marks.

Along with the season announcement, the group has announced casting for Happy in The Poorhouse, which focuses on an MMA fighter, who is grappling with a host of personal problems. The company features William Apps, Selene Beretta, James Kautz, Nick Lawson, Sarah Lemp, Morton Matthews, Patrick McDaniel, Rochelle Mikulich, Matthew Pilieci, Mark Riccadonna, and Meghan Ritchie.

The creative team includes Alfred Shatz (scenic design), Jeremy Pape (lighting design), Ricky Lang (costume design), The Hernandez Brothers (sound design), and Alfred Shatz (fight choreography).
