Writer/director Roland Tec’s new film, We Pedal Uphill: Stories From The States 2001-2008, will open its theatrical engagement in New York at the Cinema Village on March 20.

The film is made of 13 vignettes inspired by news stories that depict the anxieties of U.S. life during the George W. Bush presidency. Tales center around such subjects as a mother fearing her outspoken son will meet a violent death, a gay teenage son of a right-wing politician, and a group of PR handlers arguing over the perfect spot for a Presidential Photo Op.

The film’s cast includes a number of award-winning Broadway and Off-Broadway actors such as Jenny Bacon, Kate Blumberg, Marylouise Burke, David Drake, Alvin Epstein, and Charles Parnell.

Tec is best known for his feature film, All the Rage, and his plays include Bodily Function, Gratuitous Nudity, and The Wreck Behind Us.
