The Players Foundation for Theatre Education will present A Pipe Night for Mary Tyler Moore, to be presented at The Players (16 Gramercy Park South) on March 15.

This black tie salute will begin with cocktails at 6 pm, then dinner at 6:45 followed by a program honoring Mary Tyler Moore at 8:30 pm. “Pipe Nights” are one of The Players longest traditions, named for the smoking of churchwarden pipes in the evenings and serving as testimonials to entertainment professionals to celebrate their contribution to the arts. Tony Bennett, Elaine Stritch, and Bernadette Peters are expected to be in attendance.

Moore has appeared twice on Broadway in Whose Life Is It Anyway? and Sweet Sue, and appeared out-of-town in the ill-fated musical Breakfast at Tiffany’s. She is best known for her film and television work, including Ordinary People, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and The Dick Van Dyke Show. In addition, for the past 10-years, she has co-hosted the annual Broadway Barks adopt-a-thon in Shubert Alley with good friend Bernadette Peters.

Tickets are $200 per person. Call 212-475-6116.
