Mikhail Baryshnikov, Joy Behar, Mitzi Gaynor, Arthur Laurents, and More Set for Barnes & Noble Events

Barnes & Noble/Lincoln Triangle has announced its March schedule of events, which are free and open to the public.

Among the highlights is an appearance by Mikhail Baryshnikov, who will be interviewed by New Yorker dance critic Joan Acocella on March 10 at 7:30 pm, regarding his new book Merce My Way, featuring Baryshnikov’s photographic homage to choreographer Merce Cunningham.

Mitzi Gaynor, who starred in the film version of South Pacific, will appear in conversation with author Laurence Maslon on March 31 at 5 pm, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical and the release of the movie version on Blu-ray. Cast members from the show’s original 1949 production will also attend, and the event will include a performance by Tony-nominee Loretta Ables Sayres, who plays Bloody Mary in the current revival of the show at Lincoln Center.

The View‘s Joy Behar will sign her new children’s book Max Goes to the Dogs, on March 19 at 1 pm. Arthur Laurents will discuss and sign copies of his new book Mainly on Directing: Gypsy, West Side Story, and Other Musicals, on March 24 at 7:30 pm.

Barnes & Noble’s “Any Wednesday” cabaret series is highlighted by a March 18 presentation of songs from Anne of Green Gables, featuring a score by Gretchen Cryer and Nancy Ford. Performers will include Bethe B. Austin, Erick Devine, Alison Faircloth, Piper Goodeve, Jessica Grové and Heather Mac Rae. Other “Any Wednesday” events will include Cynthia Crane (March 4), Jane Labanz (March 11), and Devlin (March 25). In addition, 2007 and 2008 MAC Award Nominee for Male Jazz Vocalist Scot Albertson will perform on March 23 at 6 pm, and sign copies of his newest CD, With Every Note, a Step, featuring the Daryl Kojak Jazz Quintet.
