Hugh Jackman will not only host this year’s Academy Awards, to take place on Sunday, February 22 in Los Angeles, but he is expected to perform in a production number created for him by Australia director Baz Luhrmann and Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Rob Ashford, according to published reports.

Few details are being released about the ceremony, which will be produced by Laurence Mark and Bill Condon. Tony Award nominee David Rockwell will be the production designer, and Broadway veteran and film legend Jerry Lewis will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.

Jackman, who was recently named People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive,” won Tony and Drama Desk Awards for his role in The Boy From Oz on Broadway, and is currently on the big screen in Australia. His many other film credits include the X-Men trilogy, Happy Feet, The Fountain, and Van Helsing. He has also hosted the Tony Awards.
