Geoffrey Rush, Susan Sarandon, Lauren Ambrose, Andrea Martin, William Sadler, and Brian Hutchison will make up the complete cast of Eugene Ionesco's comedy Exit the King. The production -- to be directed by Neil Armfield and feature a translation by Armfield and Rush -- will play Broadway's Barrymore Theater, March 7-June 14 with an opening date of March 26.

The play tells the story of a megalomaniac ruler whose incompetence has left his country in near ruin, and who refuses to relinquish control even after he learns he has only 90 minutes left to live.

The creative team will include Dale Ferguson (set and costumes), Damien Cooper (lighting), Russell Goldsmith (sound), and John Rodgers (composer).

Rush, who will be making his Broadway debut, is best known for his film work including his Academy Award winning performance in Shine. Sarandon's theater credits include Extremities, for which she was nominated for a Drama Desk Award, and her film work includes her Oscar winning turn in Dead Man Walking.
