The Roundabout Theatre Company's productions of Sunday in the Park with George and Crimes of the Heart have extended their runs.

Sunday, which opened on Broadway last night at Studio 54, will now close on June 1. This presentation of the Menier Chocolate Factory's revival of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's musical is directed by Sam Buntrock, and stars Daniel Evans, Jenna Russell, Michael Cumpsty, Alexander Gemignani, Jessica Molaskey, and Mary Beth Peil.

The musical was inspired by Georges Seurat's famous painting "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte." The first half of the musical, set in 1884, focuses on the creation of the painting and Seurat's relationship with a woman named Dot. In the second half, set approximately 100 years later, the focus is on Seurat's great grandson, George, an acclaimed but unhappy artist.

Crimes, which opened Off-Broadway at the Laura Pels Theatre on February 14, has extended its run through April 20. Beth Henley's 1979 play is directed by Kathleen Turner, and stars Patch Darragh, Jenniffer Dundas, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Jessica Stone, and Chandler Williams.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy is about three sisters, whose resentments bubble to the surface as they are forced to deal with assorted relatives and past relationships while coping with the latest incident to disrupt their lives.
