Kristine Nielsen to Join Spring Awakening on March 4

Kristine Nielsen will play all the adult female roles in the Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening, beginning on March 4. She will succeed Kate Burton.

Nielsen’s many New York credits include Die Mommie Die!, Our Leading Lady, A Streetcar Named Desire, Betty’s Summer Vacation, and The Green Bird. She will be seen in the upcoming Broadway production of Les Liaisons Dangereuses, which begins performances at the Roundabout’s American Airlines Theatre on April 11.

The winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Spring Awakening features music by Duncan Sheik, book and lyrics by Steven Sater, direction by Michael Mayer, and choreography by Bill T. Jones. The current cast features Skylar Astin, Blake Bashoff, Kate Burton, Gerard Canonico, Tony Carlin, Lilli Cooper, Blake Daniel, Matt Doyle, Glenn Fleshler, Jonathan Groff, Emma Hunton, Brian Charles Johnson, Frances Mercanti-Anthony, Lea Michele, Eryn Murman, Alexandra Socha, Phoebe Strole, Jesse Swenson, Jenna Ushkowitz, Jonathan B. Wright, and Remy Zaken.
