Beau Willimon’s play Farragut North is expected to bow on Broadway this summer, with Tony Award winner Doug Hughes as director, according to producer Jeffrey Richards. No other details are currently available.

The play tells the story of tight presidential primary races, a political operative’s meteoric rise, and the backroom politics of today’s America. Willimon’s other plays include Lower Ninth, which is being presented later this month by the Flea Theatre, Never Never Land, and Nobody’s Child.

Hughes won the Tony Award, along with numerous other honors, for Doubt. His many other Broadway credits include Mauritius, Inherit the Wind, A Touch of the Poet, A Naked Girl on the Appian Way, and Frozen. He is currently the Resident Director at the Roundabout Theatre Company.
