Anderson, Cuccioli, Reams, Stritch, et al. Set for American Musicals Project

Nancy Anderson, Bob Cuccioli, Lee Roy Reams, and Elaine Stritch will be among the artists performing in this year’s American Musicals Project concert series at the New-York Historical Society in March.

The series will kick off on March 3, with In All Kander…and Ebb, The Music Of John Kander and Fred Ebb. Nancy Anderson, Matt Cavanaugh, Paul Schoeffler, and Lynne Wintersteller will perform classic Kander & Ebb works from musicals such as Cabaret, Curtains, Chicago and Fossse. The evening will be hosted by Howard Kissell, Cultural Editor of the Daily News, and directed by Pamela Hunt.

Next up on March 10 will be The Master, Sir Noel, a celebration of the life and works of Noel Coward. Nancy Anderson, Steve Ross, and KT Sullivan will sing Coward’s songs in an evening directed by Simon Jones.

The series will continue with Hello Jerry! on March 17, a celebration of Tony-winning author and lyricist Jerry Herman. Karen Munson and Lee Roy Reams will perform songs from Hello, Dolly!, Mame, La Cage Aux Folles, and more.

Finally, on March 31, Elaine Stritch will lead a cast in singing an array of Stephen Sondheim works including tunes from West Side Story, Into the Woods and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Pamela Hunt will direct, and additional performers include Judy Blazer, Bob Cuccioli, and Jonathan Rayson. The evening will be a benefit for The American Musicals Project.

The American Musicals Project (AMP) is a creative educational curriculum that promotes the study of history and English through musical theater to seventh and eighth grade students Every year, AMP celebrates great composing artists of the musical theater in a series of live concerts at the New-York Historical Society, hosted by theater luminaries and sung by Broadway performers.
