Almost An Evening to Transfer to Bleecker Street Theatre

Ethan Coen’s trio of short plays, Almost an Evening, first seen this year at Atlantic Stage 2, will transfer to The Bleecker Street Theatre, to run March 20-June 1. The show will be directed by Neil Pepe. Casting will be announced at a later date.

Almost An Evening consists of the plays Waiting, Four Benches, and Debate. Coen is best-known as an Oscar-winning director and screenwriter — with his brother Joel — of such films as Fargo, Barton Fink, and O Brother, Where Art Thou?. The pair are also up for numerous Academy Awards this month for their film No Country for Old Men, for which they’ve already the Directors Guild of America Award among other honors.

The cast of the Atlantic production included F. Murray Abraham, Jonathan Cake, Elizabeth Marvel, J.R. Horne, Jordan Lage, Mark Linn-Baker, Mary McCann, Del Pentecost, and Joey Slotnick. The creative team included Riccardo Hernandez (sets), Ilona Somogyi (costumes), Donald Holder (lighting), and Eric Shim (sound).
