All Events Announced for Signature’s Kander & Ebb Celebration

The full calendar of events for the Signature Theatre’s four-month-long Kander & Ebb Celebration, March 11-June 22, have been announced.

As previously reported, the Arlington, VA festival of the great songwriting team will include productions of Kiss of the Spider Woman, starring Natascia Diaz, Hunter Foster, and Will Chase (March 11-April 20); George Dvorsky, David Margulies, and Michael Minarik in The Happy Time (April 1-June 1); The Visit, starring Chita Rivera, George Hearn, and Marc Jacoby (May 13-June 22); and Karen Akers’ acclaimed cabaret show, First You Dream: The Songs of Kander & Ebb (March 11-16).

Other events will include a conversation between Kander and artistic director Eric Schaeffer (May 12); a black-tie gala with special guests Kander, Rivera, Hearn, and Visit book writer Terrence McNally (May 17); Kander & Ebb Overtures, a showcase of the team’s hit songs featuring graduates of Signature’s Overtures Musical Theatre Institute (June 4-7); and a special performance from the Bowen McCauley Dance Company (June 12-15).

In addition, the theater’s Mead Lobby will host a special free exhibition of the team’s work, and there will be free screenings of the films New York, New York (March 31), Funny Lady (April 14), Cabaret (June 2), and Chicago (June 16), all of which feature the pair’s songs.
