Rob Evan to Spell Shuler Hensley in Tarzan

Rob Evan will play Kerchak in the Broadway musical Tarzan from March 28 through May 6, taking over the role from Shuler Hensley, who is temporarily leaving the production to star in the Westport Country Playhouse production of the John Kander-Fred Ebb musical All About Us.

Evan has previously appeared on Broadway in Les Misérables, Dance of the Vampires, Little Shop of Horrors, and Jekyll & Hyde, in which he played the title roles. His other stage credits include Johnny Guitar and Hello, Dolly!

Directed and designed by Bob Crowley, Tarzan has a book by David Henry Hwang and a score by Phil Collins. The show also stars Josh Strickland, Jenn Gambatese, Merle Dandridge, Chester Gregory III, and Tim Jerome.
