Jeb Brown, who starred in the Broadway musicals Ring of Fire and High Fidelity, will replace Will Chase in a concert version of the musical Working, to take place at 8pm on Monday, February 19 at the Zipper Theater. All proceeds benefit the Actors’ Fund of America. Chase had to withdraw due to a scheduling conflict with a television pilot.

Brown joins previously announced cast members Merle Dandridge, Ed Dixon, Roderick Hill, Celia Keenan-Bolger, and Mary Testa. The show will be directed by Gordon Greenberg, with choreography by Warren Carlyle, musical direction by Steve Marzullo, lighting design by Jeff Croiter and Jeff Carnevale, and sound design by Peter Fitzgerald.

Working has a book by Stephen Schwartz, which is based on Studs Terkel’s 1974 book of the same name, which looked at a cross-section of Americans. It features a score by Schwartz, Craig Carnelia, Micki Grant, James Taylor, Susan Birkenhead, and Mary Rodgers. Among its best known songs are “Millworker,” “Just a Housewife,” “If I Could’ve Been,” and “Fathers and Sons.”
