Forbidden Broadway: Special Victims Unit, the current edition of Gerard Alessandrini’s popular series of theatrical parody shows, will close in New York on April 15 and move to Chicago’s Royal George Theatre, April 19-July 1. The cast will feature Jared Bradshaw, Valerie Fagan, Leisa Mather, and Michael West.

Under the show’s agreement with its New York home, the 47th Street Theatre, Forbidden Broadway must take a 10-week hiatus each spring to allow the Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre to play its season. A new edition of Forbidden Broadway will begin previews at the 47th Street Theatre on June 14.

Forbidden Broadway: Special Victims Unit began previews in October 2004 at the Douglas Fairbanks Theatre (now demolished) and moved to the 47th Street in September 2005. The show won the 2005 Drama Desk Award for Best Musical Revue. In October, Alessandrini received a 2006 Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theatre.
