Johanna Day, Bronson Pinchot, and Rita Wilson will head the cast for the world premiere of Lisa Loomer’s play, Distracted, at L.A.’s Mark Taper Forum, March 15-April 29. The production, which will be directed by Leonard Foglia, will open officially on March 25.

The play focuses on a mother’s quest to find a remedy for her eight-year-old son’s anxious and distracted behavior. Does he really have ADD or is he simply reacting to the over-stimulation of modern technology. Loomer’s other plays include The Waiting Room and Living Out.

The cast will also feature Stephanie Berry, Marisa Geraghty, Emma Hunton, Ray Porter, and Hudson Thames. The creative team includes Elaine McCarthy (sets and projections), Robert Blackman (costumes), Russell H. Champa (lighting), and Jon Gottleib (sound).
Foglia’s Broadway credits include Master Class and the revival of On Golden Pond.

Day received a Tony Award nomination for Proof and was nominated this morning for a Helen Hayes Award for her role in the Arena Stage production of The Rainmaker. Pinchot’s Broadway credits include Sly Fox and Putting it Together, and he starred on the hit sitcom Perfect Strangers. Wilson recently made her Broadway debut in Chicago and has starred in many films, including Volunteers, where she met her husband, Tom Hanks.
