Chuck Cooper Will Star in Yale Rep’s dance of the holy ghosts

Tony Award winner Chuck Cooper will star in Marcus Gardley’s dance of the holy ghosts: a play on memory at Yale Repertory’s New Theater, March 17-April 8. Directed by Liz Diamond, the production wiill open officially on March 23.

The show focuses on Oscar Clifton (Cooper), who reconnects with his estranged grandson after 18 years. Also in the cast are Pascale Armand, La Tonya Borsay, Harriett D. Foy, Brian Henry, and Paul J. Medford. The creative team includes Peter Pucci (choreography), Aleksandra Maslik (set design), Jennifer Moeller (costumes), Jennifer Tipton (lighting), Arielle Edwards (sound), Scott Davenport Richards (music composition), and XY Eli (music direction).

Cooper won a Tony for his performance in The Life. His other Broadway credits include Lennon, Caroline, or Change, Chicago, and Passion. He has starred Off-Broadway in Thunder Knocking on the Door and Avenue X, and was a regular on the TV series 100 Centre Street.
