Cass Morgan has taken a temporary leave from the Broadway production Ring of Fire to recuperate from surgery. Producers expect the Tony Award-nominated actress to return prior to the show’s official opening on March 12. Ring of Fire begins previews on February 8.

During Morgan’s absence, her roles in the musical will be played by Melanie Vaughan, whose Broadway credits include Imaginary Friends, Parade, and Sunday in the Park With George.

Ring of Fire features more than 35 songs associated with the late country singer Johnny Cash. It is directed by Richard Maltby, Jr., and its cast includes Tony Award winner Jarrod Emick and Grammy Award winner Lari White.
