Tony Award winner Heather Headley will make a brief return to Broadway on Monday, May 24 at 7pm in Home, a one-night only concert at the New Amsterdam Theatre to benefit the Children and Family Initiative of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Headley, who played Nala in the original cast of The Lion King at the New Amsterdam and won a Tony for her portrayal of the title character in Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida, was a 2004 Grammy Award nominee; she will perform pop, R&B, and Broadway songs in Home. “I’m ecstatic to come back to Broadway and especially to return to the New Amsterdam Theatre,” the star was quoted in a press release on the event. “This will be a great night for me to visit with my Broadway family and to enjoy my first solo concert on Broadway. But it makes the evening even more thrilling to be doing it for such a great cause: the children who benefit from the services of the Children and Family Initiative of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.”

Tickets for Home range from $50 to $500 and are available by calling Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS at 212-840-0770 or by visiting www.BroadwayCares.org.
