On Friday, January 24, producers Ken Davenport and Michael Jackowitz will offer private industry presentations of the acclaimed new chamber musical Daddy Long Legs. Featuring a book and direction by Tony winner John Caird Les Misérables and a score by Tony nominee Paul Gordon (Jane Eyre), Daddy Long Legs had its world premiere at the Rubicon Theatre Company in 2009 and has enjoyed international productions in Canada, Tokyo, and London's West End.

An intimate two-person musical set in turn-of-the-century New England, the presentation will star Megan McGinnis (Les Misérables) and Robert Adelman Hancock (Mamma Mia!, national tour). The story follows Jerusha Abbott (McGinnis), the "oldest orphan in the John Grier Home," who is sent to college to be educated as a writer by a mysterious benefactor to whom she is required to send a monthly letter. At school, she encounters a roommate's well-to-do uncle, Jervis Pendleton (Hancock), who opens her eyes to a world of literature, travel, and adventure, and helps her blossom into an independent young woman.

With musical direction by Laura Bergquist, the current touring production of Daddy Long Legs features scenic and costume design by Olivier Award winner David Farley, lighting design by Paul Toben, and orchestrations by Brad Haak.
