Beautiful, Starring Jessie Mueller as Carole King, Opens on Broadway Tonight

Douglas McGrath's Beautiful — The Carole King Musical opens on Broadway tonight, January 12, at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre. The production stars Tony Award nominee Jessie Mueller as the Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter and features music by King as well as Gerry Goffin, Barry Mann, and Cynthia Weil. Marc Bruni directs.

Beautiful explores King's early life and career, from her Brooklyn upbringing (when she was still called Carol Klein) to her great success in the music industry with fellow writers and friends Weil and Mann and husband Goffin.
