A Night With Janis Joplin has announced that Sunday, February 9, will be the show's closing date at Broadway's Lyceum Theatre. As previously announced, the Joplin-inspired bio-musical, is departing the Lyceum to make way for the Broadway run of Will Eno's The Realistic Joneses. Producers Daniel Chilewich, Todd Gershwin, Michael Cohl have said that the musical will reopen at another New York City venue sometime this March. They hope to confirm this new location within the next few weeks.

A Night With Janis Joplin currently stars powerhouse performer Mary Bridget Davies as the legendary rock icon. Tony Award nominee De'Adre Aziza (Passing Strange), Taprena Michelle Augustine (The Book of Mormon), Allison Blackwell, and Nikki Kimbrough join Davies as Joplin's backup singers, The Joplinaires, with Kacee Clanton and Alison Cusano understudying the title role.

The musical, chronicling Joplin's short yet impactful life and career, features some of her most famous tunes, such as "Piece of My Heart," "Summertime," and "Cry Baby." Several of the singer's artistic inspirations, including Nina Simone, Etta James, and Aretha Franklin, also make musical appearances throughout the show.
