Zachary Booth (FX’s Damages), David Conrad (CBS’ Ghost Whisperer), Will Rogers (Golden Age), Janie Brookshire (Mint’s Mary Broome), Lisa Joyce (La Bête), Rachel Resheff (The People in the Picture), and Danielle Skraastad (Signature’s The Intelligent Homosexual’s Guide to Capitalism and Socialism with a Key to the Scriptures) have joined the cast of Signature Theatre‘s upcoming production of Lanford Wilson’s The Mound Builders, playing February 26-April 7 with a March 17 opening. Drama Desk Award nominee Jo Bonney (By the Way, Meet Vera Stark) will direct the production.

In The Mound Builders, a team of archaeologists confront the force of ambition and experiences clashes of gender, class, and culture as they excavate the remains of a Native American civilization in an Illinois town. The play, which premiered at Circle Rep in 1975, was described by The New York Times as Wilson’s “most ambitious work.”

During his lifetime, playwright Lanford Wilson won numerous awards, including the Brandeis Creative Arts Award, The Institute of Arts and Letters Award, and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. In 1975, he won the Obie Award for Distinguished Playwriting for The Mound Builders.
