Jenni Barber (The Performers), Andrèa Burns (In the Heights), and Cady Huffman (The Producers) are set to join Jonny Orsini (An Early History of Fire), Lewis J. Stadlen (The People in the Picture), and the previously announced Nathan Lane (The Producers) in Lincoln Center Theater’s upcoming production of Douglas Carter Beane’s The Nance. Jack O’Brien will direct the production, which begins previews on March 21, with an April 15 opening.

The Nance tells the story of Chauncey Miles, played by Nathan Lane, a headline nance performer (a stereotypically camp homosexual male character in 1930’s burlesque) in New York, who also happens to be homosexual. The play paints a portrait of a homosexual man, living and working in the secretive and dangerous gay world of 1930’s New York.

The productions will have sets by John Lee Beatty, costumes by Ann Roth, lighting by Japhy Weideman, sound by Leon Rothenberg, original music and arrangements by Glen Kelly, orchestrations by Larry Blank, and choreography by Joey Pizzi.
