Simon Callow to Offer Being Shakespeare in London, New York, and Chicago

Simon Callow will perform his solo show Being Shakespeare at London’s Trafalgar Studios 1, March 7-31. Tom Cairns has directed the production, which, as previously announced will subsequently run at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, April 4-14. In addition, Chicago Shakespeare will present the show at the Broadway Playhouse, April 18-29.

Being Shakespeare, written by Jonathan Bate, is about William Shakespeare and the enduring characters that he created. Callow has previously performed the piece in London, Edinburgh and on a U.K. tour.

Callow’s previous solo shows include The Mystery of Charles Dickens and Dr Marigold & Mr Chops. His other recent stage roles include Twelfth Night at the National Theatre, and Waiting for Godot. His many films include A Room with a View, Maurice, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and Shakespeare in Love.
