Patrick K. Brown to Join Broadway’s The Lion King

Patrick R. Brown will assume the role of Scar in Broadway’s The Lion King, beginning on Monday, Januayr 16.

Based on the 1994 Disney animated film, the stage musical features Elton John and Tim Rice’s music from the film along with three new songs by John and Rice; additional musical material by Lebo M, Mark Mancina, Jay Rifkin, Taymor and Hans Zimmer; and music from “Rhythm of the Pride Lands,” an album inspired by the original music in the film, written by Lebo M, Mark Mancina and Hans Zimmer.

The company also features Adam Jacobs (Simba), Alton Fitzgerald White (Mufasa), Tshidi Manye (Rafiki), Chaunteé Schuler (Nala), James Brown-Orleans (Banzai), Bonita J. Hamilton (Shenzi) and Enrique Segura (Ed). In addition, Judah Bellamy and Aubrey Omari Joseph alternate the role of Young Simba.

Brown’s many stage credits include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Caesar & Cleopatra., She Loves Me, and The Rocky Horror Show.
