NBC to Begin Streaming Smash on January 16

NBC will begin streaming its upcoming musical drama Smash on Monday, January 16 on its digital download partners, including iTunes, Amazon, XBox, Playstation, and Vudu, according to reports.


The show, which details a behind-the scenes look at the making of a Broadway musical, wil alsl be available on-demand on January 16 through Xfinity, and will begin streaming the show on NBC.com and Hulu on Monday, January 23.


The pilot episode will air on NBC on Sunday, February 5 immediately after the Super Bowl, and the show’s regular run will begin on Monday, February 6.


The series is co-created and written by playwright Theresa Rebeck and has original songs by Tony Award winners Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. Tony winner Michael Mayer has directed the pilot.


The cast features Debra Messing, Christian Borle, Anjelica Huston, Megan Hilty, Katherine McPhee, Jaime Cepero, Will Chase Jack Davenport, Raza Jaffrey, Brian d’Arcy James, and Savannah Wise, along with guest stars Nick Jonas, Bernadette Peters, Uma Thurman, Grace Gummer, and Michael Cristofer.
