Modfest Announces 2012 Line-up

The tenth annual Modfest, at Vassar College, has announced its lineup, with all events taking place on the Vassar College campus, January 18 – February 4.

The festival is celebration of the arts of the 20th and 21st centuries, and includes a chamber opera, new compositions, dramatic works, exhibitions, lectures, readings, and more. Most events are free and open to the public.

Theater related highlights include a reading of a new play (January 21 at 5:30pm); a cabaret night (January 27 at 5pm, 6:30pm, and 8pm); the chamber opera Vanitas, starring mezzo-soprano Mary Nessinger (January 29 at 3pm); a reading of Paula Vogel’s The Baltimore Waltz (January 30a t 7pm); and a reading of The Inheritance of Nightdreams, a new play by Isabella Batts (February 3 at 8pm).

Among the other participants in the festival are JACK String Quartet and Mahagonny Ensemble.
