Tony nominee and Glee star Matthew Morrison will host the PBS special, Oscar Hammerstein II – Out of My Dreams, to premiere on PBS stations beginning March 3.

The one-hour film celebrates the acclaimed lyricist, who worked in the theater for over 40 years, and is perhaps best known for his collaborations with composer Richard Rodgers. Among Hammerstein’s many works are Rose-Marie (1924), Show Boat (1927), Oklahoma! (1943), Carousel (1945), South Pacific (1949), The King and I (1951) and The Sound of Music (1959).

The special features interviews with composer Stephen Sondheim; director/producer Harold Prince; actresses Shirley Jones and Mitzi Gaynor; playwright/lyricist Joe DiPietro; Ted Chapin, President of Rodgers & Hammerstein: An Imagem Company; and biographer Hugh Fordin; as well as several Hammerstein family members.
