Capital Repertory Theatre has announced casting for its upcoming production of Wendy Wasserstein’s The Sisters Rosensweig, January 20-February 19. Michael Bush will direct.

This Tony-nominated play follows three Jewish sisters from Brooklyn as they reunite in London for the birthday of Sara, the eldest. Over the course of a chaotic weekend, the sisters come to terms with both their differences and their love for one another.

The cast will feature veteran actors including Marcy McGuigan as Sara and Douglas Rees as her surprising love interest Mervyn Kant. The cast will also include Richard Hollis (Geoffrey), Bernadette Quigley (Pfeni), Michael McKenzie (Nicholas Pym), Cara Vasek (Tesse), Cornelius Geaney, Jr. (Thom), and Yvonne Perry (“Gorgeous”).

The design team will be comprised of James Noone (set design), Michael Giannati (lighting design), Karen Ann Ledger (costume design), and Brad Berridge (sound design).

In addition, Capital Rep. will host the real Georgette “Gorgeous” Levis, Wendy Wasserstein’s only surviving sibling, for an interview with Capital Rep Artistic Director Maggie Mancinelli-Cahill on February 12.
