Julie Andrews to Direct The Great American Mousical for Goodspeed Musicals

Julie Andrews will direct the previously announced musical version of The Great American Mousical for Goodspeed Musicals, The show, which will have choreography by Christopher Gattelli, will run November 8- December 2 at the company's Norma Terris Theatre in East Haddam, CT.

With songs by Zina Goldrich and Marcy Heisler and a book by Hunter Bell and based on the popular book Andrews wrote with her daughter Emma Walton Hamilton, the show centers on the leading lady of a new Broadway musical who finds herself in a fix and ends up being pampered by a mouse named Adelaide.

Andrews won an Oscar in 1965 for her performance in Mary Poppins. Among her other film credits are The Sound of Music, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and 10. Her Broadway credits include Victor/Victoria, The Boy Friend, My Fair Lady, and Camelot.
