Hugh Jackman to Return to Broadway in Houdini in 2013/2014 Season

Tony Award winner and movie star Hugh Jackman will return to Broadway in the title role of the new musical Houdini, which has been announced for the 2013-2014 season. Jack O’Brien will direct.

The musical will feature a book by Academy and Emmy Award winner Aaron Sorkin, with music and lyrics by Academy and Grammy Award winner Stephen Schwartz. The show will be presented by Scott Sanders and David Rockwell, with Rockwell also designing the sets.


Additional cast, creative team, and show information will be announced at a future date.

Jackman recently wrapped up a run of Hugh Jackman: Back on Broadway. He won the Tony for The Boy From Oz, with other stage credits include A Steady Rain, Oklahoma, and Sunset Boulevard. His numerous film credits include playing Wolverine in the X-Men franchise of films, and his forthcoming role as Jean Valjean in the upcoming film version of Les Miserables.
