Ensemble Studio Theatre to Present Unfiltered 2012

Ensemble Studio Theatre will present Unfiltered 2012, a festival featuring four new full-length plays from EST’s Youngblood playwriting group, to run January 5-February 4.

In Big Tex by Angela Hanks, a young bus driver yearns to fulfill his childhood dream of voicing the massive mascot of the Texas State Fair. Ryan Dowler’s The Gratifications is a political play wrapped in a family drama.

In Memory of Julie Simmons by Erica Saleh follows three high school girls dealing with the suicide of their best friend. Finally, Eric Dufault’s Year of the Rooster delves into the world of competitive cockfighting, taking in the point of the cocks as well.

Youngblood is Ensemble Studio Theatre’s company of emerging professional playwrights under 30. Playwrights are nurtured through regular meetings, readings, retreats, workshops, and mainstage productions.
