Charles Busch to Star in His New Comedy, Judith of Bethulia

Playwright/performer Charles Busch will star in his new comedy, Judith of Bethulia, to a receive a limited premiere showcase engagement at Theater for the New City’s Cino Theater, March 30-April 28. Carl Andress will direct.

The play is described as “an outrageous and bawdy celebration of the Hollywood Biblical epic. Lepers, whores, eunuchs, centurions, evil generals, youthful poets and a beautiful redheaded widow make Charles Busch’s latest comedy an event worth praying for.”

The cast will also include Dave August, Christopher Borg, Larry Bullock, Kendal Sparks, Mary Testa, Jonathan Walker, Jennifer Van Dyck, and Billy Wheelan. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

The creative team will include B.T. Whitehill (scenic and graphic design), Jessica Jahn (costume design), Kirk Bookman (lighting design), Jill BC DuBoff (sound design), and Katherine Carr (wig design).
