The new musical Lysistrata Jones will play it’s final Broadway performance following the January 8 matinee performance. As of that time, it will have played 34 previews and 30 regular performances.

The show, inspired by Aristophanes’ Lysistrata and featuring a book by Douglas Carter Beane and music and lyrics by Lewis Flinn, is set at Athens University, where head cheerleader Lysistrata Jones swears to hold out on “giving it up” until the school’s basketball team reverses its seemingly hopeless losing streak.

Dan Knechtges, who staged the show Off-Broadway, has also directed and choreographed the Broadway production, which features the entire Off-Broadway cast. Patti Murin portrays the title role, with the company also including Liz Mikel (Hetaira), Josh Segarra (Mick), Jason Tam (Xander), and Lindsay Nicole Chambers (Robin), Alexander Aguilar (Uardo), Ato Blankson-Wood (Tyllus), Katie Boren (Lampito), Kat Nejat (Cleonice), LaQuet Sharnell (Mhyrinne), Teddy Toye (Harold), and Alex Wyse (Cinesius).
