BD Wong Directs Cindy Cheung in Encore Engagement of Speak Up Connie

BD Wong directs actress Cindy Cheung in her solo show, Speak Up Connie, which will return to the Stage Left Studio, February 5-15.

In the piece, Cheung writes, performs, and provides original music and lyrics in a comedy about getting a word in edgewise. The show recently played five sold-out workshop performances at Stage Left Studio, and the return engagement is billed as “preview performances.”

Cheung’s theater credits include The Sugarhouse at the Edge of the Wilderness, Middletown , The Seagull, Antigone, Goodbye Cruel World, and Sides: The Fear Is Real…

Wong is best known as an actor, receiving the Tony Award and other honors for his breakthrough performance in M. Butterfly, with television credits including recurring roles on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Oz. He previously directed and produced the New York Musical Theatre Festival production of The Yellow Wood.
