Barbara Lea Has Died

Cabaret singer and actress Barbara Lea has died at age 82, due to complications of Alzheimer’s disease, according to The New York Times.


Lea began performing in the 1950s, and appeared in such clubs as The Village Vanguard, The Rainbow Room, Michael’s Pub, and Jan Wallman’s. She also worked regularly in regional theater.


Her many recordings include Lea in Love, Do It Again, Deep in a Dream: Barbara Lea Sings Jimmy Van Heusen, and Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans?.


No immediate family members survive.
