Andrew Garman, Alfredo Narciso et al. Set for The Ugly One at SoHo Rep
Casting has been announced for German playwright Marius von Mayenburg’s social satire The Ugly One, to be co-presented by Soho Rep and The Play Company, at SoHo Rep, February 1-26. Daniel Aukin will direct.
In the play, the show’s protagonist, Lette, learns for the first time that he is unspeakably ugly, throwing him into a world where nothing is as it seemed. The English translation used for the production is by Maja Zade.
Alfredo Narciso will star as Lette, with the cast also including Steven Boyer, Andrew Garman, and Lisa Joyce.
The creative team will include Eugene Lee (set design), Theresa Squire (costume design), Matt Frey (lighting design) and Matt Tierney (sound design).
