Actor Robert Hegyes Has Died

Stage and television star Robert Hegyes has died at age 60 in New Jersey, according to published reports.

Hegyes’ stage credits include the short-lived Broadway play, Don’t Call Back and An Evening With Groucho Marx.

He was best known for playing the role of Juan Epstein on the hit sticom Welcome Back, Kotter and later played Detective Manny Esposito on the CBS drama Cagney & Lacey. His other film and television credits included Bob Roberts, NewsRadio, The Love Boat, and Chico and the Man.
