The New York Pops has announced its 2012-2013 concert season, which features a number of Broadway veterans as special guests. Music director Steven Reineke will lead the orchestra’s five-concert Carnegie Hall subscription series.

Aaron Lazar, Kelli O’Hara, and Paulo Szot will join the Pops for the first event of the season: Some Enchanted Evening: The Music of Rodgers and Hammerstein, on Friday, October 12, at 8pm. The concert will feature music from the prolific duo who created Oklahoma!, Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I, The Sound of Music and other classic musicals from the golden age of Broadway. Also featured will be Essential Voices USA and New York Theatre Ballet.

By Special Request: An Evening with the Orchestra will be presented on Friday, November 9 at 8pm, starring the musicians of The New York Pops in a program that features favorite symphonic repertoire including Ravel’s Bolero, Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, Shostakovich’s Festive Overture, and the world premiere of a new fanfare composed by Steven Reineke.

Pink Martini will join the Pops for the holiday concert on December 14 and 15 at 8pm. The show will feature songs from the band’s best-selling album, Joy to the World.

Seth MacFarlane, creator of Family Guy, will be the guest artists for Come Fly with Me: The Songs of Sammy Cahn on Friday, March 8, at 8pm. The concert will feature some of Cahn’s biggest hits, including “High Hopes” and “Come Fly with Me.”

Norm Lewis, Julia Murney, and Jennifer Laura Thompson will guest in The Wizard and I: The Musical Journey of Stephen Schwartz, on Friday, April 12 at 8pm. The concert will celebrate Schwartz’s 65th birthday and the 10th anniversary of his hit musical Wicked, with a program that highlights his compositions.
