Lee Rocker, bassist and vocalist for the Grammy nominated band The Stray Cats, will participate in an on-stage jam session during his final performance in the Broadway musical, Million Dollar Quartet, at the Nederlander Theatre, on Sunday, January 30.

As previously reported, Rocker will join the cast of the musical in the role of Jay Perkins, for a limited engagement beginning January 21. He will be filling in for original cast member Corey Kaiser, who is taking a scheduled vacation, and will return to the production on February 1.

Million Dollar Quartet was inspired by the famed 1956 recording session that brought together Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley — along with Sam Phillips, founder of Sun Records. Eric Schaeffer has directed the production.

It has also been announced that Rocker will perform a free-of-charge concert at Rockwood Music Hall on Thursday, February 3 at 8pm. The show will feature classic Stray Cats hits like “Rock this Town,” “Stray Cat Strut,” “Bring it Back Again” and “Sexy and Seventeen,” as well as renditions of songs of other musical icons like Elvis Presley, Willie Nelson and The Beatles. He will be joined by guitarist Buzz Campbell, guitarist/slide player Brophy Dale and drummer Jimmy Sage.

Founded by Rocker, Brian Setzer, and Slim Jim Phantom, The Stray Cats have sold nearly 10 million albums and garnered an astounding 23 gold and platinum certified records worldwide.
