Keira Keeley will play Harper Pitt and Sofia Jean Gomez will play The Angel in the Off-Broadway production of Tony Kushner’s Angels in America, beginning with the February 1 performance. They replace Zoe Kazan and Robin Weigert, respectively. Michael Greif has directed the production, which runs through March 27.

Kushner’s play is set in America in the 1980s against a backdrop of greed, conservatism, sexual politics, and the discovery of AIDS. Both parts of the play, Millennium Approaches and Perestroika, alternate in repertory.

Keely and Gomez will join a cast that includes the previously reported Michael Urie as Prior Walter, Adam Driver as Louis Ironson, Lynne McCollough as Hannah Pitt, Bill Heck as Joe Pitt, Billy Porter as Belize, and Frank Wood as Roy Cohn.

The production features scenic design by Mark Wendland, costume design by Clint Ramos, lighting design by Ben Stanton, sound design by Ken Travis, projection design by Wendall K. Harrington, original music by Michael Friedman, and fight direction by Rick Sordelet.
