Kathleen Turner to Star in High at Broadway’s Booth Theatre Beginning in March

Stage and screen star Kathleen Turner will return to Broadway in Matthew Lombardo’s High, which will play the Booth Theatre, with previews beginning March 25 and an opening set for April 19. Rob Ruggiero will direct.

In the play, Sister Jamison Connolly (Turner) agrees to sponsor a 19-year-old drug user in an effort to help him combat his addiction. Struggling between the knowledge she possesses as a rehabilitation counselor and a woman of religious conviction, she begins to question her belief in miracles and whether people can find the courage to change.

The cast will also include Tony Award nominee Stephen Kunken as Father Michael Delpapp and Evan Jonigkeit, who will be making his Broadway debut as Cody Randall. Turner and Jonigkeit are reprising their roldes from the 2010 world premiere of the play, which premiered at TheaterWorks in Hartford, Connecticut in July 2010, followed by the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park in September 2010 and The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis in October 2010.

The design team will include David Gallo (sets), Jess Goldstein (costumes), John Lasiter (lights), and Vincent Olivieri (sound & original compositions).

Turner received Tony nominations for Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, with other theater credits including The Graduate on Broadway and The Third Story Off-Broadway. Her many film credits include War of the Roses, Romancing the Stone, Prizzi’s Honor, Body Heat, and Peggy Sue Got Married. She had a major recurring role last season playing the role of Sue Collini on Showtime’s Californication.
