Broadway’s Rock of Ages to Begin Helen Hayes Run March 24

The Broadway musical Rock of Ages , which as previously reported is going on a temporary hiatus following its recently concluded run at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, will play its first performance at the Helen Hayes Theatre on Thursday, March 24. Casting will be announced at a later date.

The musical’s book is written by Chris D’Arenzio. Kristin Hanggi has directed the production, which features choreography by Kelly Devine. The show played its final performance at the Brooks Atkinson on January 9.

Rock of Ages focuses on a young rocker hungry for his big break and a small town girl who meet in 1987 at a legendary Hollywood club facing its imminent demise. The score includes the hit songs of iconic rockers like REO Speedwagon, as well as Journey, Styx, Foreigner, Pat Benatar, Whitesnake, and many more.

The production features scenic design is by Beowulf Boritt, costume design by Gregory Gale, lighting design by Jason Lyons, sound design is by Peter Hylenski, and projection design by Zachary Borovay.
