William Jackson Harper, Myra Lucretia Taylor, et al. Set for A Cool Dip in the Barren Saharan Crick

Keith Eric Chappelle, William Jackson Harper, Joshua King, Kianné Muschett, and Myra Lucretia Taylor will star in the world premiere of Kia Corthron’s A Cool Dip in the Barren Saharan Crick. Presented at Playwrights Horizons in a co-production with The Play Company and The Culture Project, the show will run March 4-April 11, with an opening on March 28. Chay Yew will direct.

In the play, an African preacher-in-training (Harper) comes to a drought-stricken rural American community to further his studies in religion and water conservation. He stays with a mother (Taylor) and daughter (Muschett) haunted by personal tragedy and takes a special interest in a young orphan (King) starved for guidance.

The production will feature scenic design by Kris Stone, costume design by Anita Yavich, lighting design by Ben Stanton and sound design by Darron L West.
