Susan Boyle’s I Dreamed a Dream CD Sells 3.1 Million Copies

Susan Boyle’s debut CD, I Dreamed a Dream, sold 3.1 million copies in 2009, making it the second best-selling CD of the year, according to published reports.

Boyle shot to worldwide fame when she performed the song “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Miserables on the television show Britain’s Got Talent. Her CD, which was officially released in November, includes that song.

The year’s other top-selling CDs included Taylor Swift’s Fearless (which was released in 2008), Michael Jackson’s Number Ones, Lady Gaga’s The Fame, and Andrea Bocelli’s My Christmas.
